Sheng Jian Kai He : Rise, Open, Close and Fall

Physical: Stand in the Wuji posture and then raise the hands up palms down until they are in front of the chest, arms straight but elbows bent. Now gently turn the hands so they face each and open the arms out as if opening the chest. Once the arms have reached a comfortable natural expansion move them back together, turn the hands over and drop the arms back to the original position. During the movement upward with the arms slightly straighten the knees and during the movement downward slightly bend the knees.

Energetic: When moving the arms upward think on the Qi moving up the front of the body into the chest. From here it moves out the inside of the arms to the fingertips. The movement of this Qi is what opens the arms out. The Qi is moved along the outside of the arms into the upper back and head as the hands move closer to each other. When the arms move downward allow the Qi to move down the back of the body and into the Earth.

Breathing: As the arms move up and the hands move apart breath in, as the hands come together and the arms move downward breath out.
