Wuji Gong

Section one, Three Return To One:

Raise the hands, bringing the Earth energy up through the body. As we lower the hands we bring the Heavenly energy down. We have joined together Earth, Human and Heaven. We now do the same thing with the three Dantians. As the hands are lowered the right hand goes underneath, and we hold a ball. Now we turn to the right, the right hand moving up to the upper Dantian and the left hand moving down to the lower Dantian. Now we turn back to centre and the hands naturally make a ball with the right hand on top. Turn to the left and repeat the process, right hand down, left hand up. Now return to centre with the hands holding a ball, hands at the side position.

Section two: Open The Microcosmic Orbit

With the ball of Qi between our hands and with our intention we move the energy up the spine, raising the hands as we do. At the top of the head we begin to lower the hands, bringing the energy down the Ren channel. At the bottom we again raise the hands up to the chest, bringing the energy up through the centre of the body. Here we rest and turn the hands out as we symbolically open the heart.

Section three: Returning To The Stars

From the last position turn right, as we do the hands turn so the thumb and forefingers make a rectangle. The right hand is facing out and the left palm is facing you. From here we look through and connect with the moon. Now turn the waist back to the original position, weight centred with the hands in front of the chest. Turning left we repeat the same process, except this time the right hand faces you and the left hand faces away. From here we connect with the sun, and then move back to centre. To finish the move we again turn right, this time connecting with your star, that part of you that can help remind you, who or what you are. This time as we turn back to centre we drop the right hand down and make a ball with the right hand underneath.

Tip: When turning remember that the leading hand takes the upper position in the square. So if we turn right the right hand is on top. Another useful note is that when we turn the leading hand will always face away, so when we turn rightthe right palm will face away from the face.

Section four: Rotating The Universe

From the last position rotate the ball, the right hand comes up and out and the left hand drops inside. Keep rotating the ball until the right hand is back to its original position. As we do this we gently sway from one leg to the other, first to the right, then to the left. The movement should feel natural and unforced. With this move we can can count to two, move right, one. move left, two, and then we centre. From here move the weight to the right foot, pick up the left toes and turn on the left left heel to your left. Place the left toes down and then bring the right foot up alongside it.

Tip: When you turn the toes try to turn from the waist. Now we are facing North and the hands are holding a ball in the side position. Again begin to move the weight gently to the right as we rotate the ball. Last time we rotated the ball one full rotation, this time we rotate the ball twice. The right hand moves forward and up as the left hand moves slightly back and down. Again you can use the weight shift to count to four and then return to centre. From here we repeat the previous move, turning to the left, so we are facing West. As we turn we drop the right hand so we are again holding a ball left hand on top right hand underneath. We again rotate the ball once, then turn left so we are facing South. From here rotate the ball twice. Ending this move with the handsholding a ball, hands in the side position.

Section Five: Returning To The Centre

From the last position raise the arms up and out, as we open up to the universe. Then bending down bring the hands down to the Earth. As we straighten up we guide the energy up, raising it above our heads. Here it is joined by the heavenly energy and both are guided into the crown by the hands. With the minds eye, guide this energy down the centre of the body. It moves down at the same speed the hands move down. Both rest at the Dantian. Rest here and feel this ball of energy expand out and surround you, image this ball encompassing the whole universe. The centre of the universe is inside you, you are everything and you are nothing, the place without judgment, this is WuJi.
